Metro
Metro, a state-owned company, is Tasmania’s largest passenger transport service provider.
The organisation employs 375 drivers to operate a fleet of 218 buses in and around Hobart, Launceston and Burnie.
Metro plays an important role in connecting people in the communities in which it operates. Every day Tasmanian parents and children use Metro services to access important community services.
Student transport is also a key activity. Every school day Metro safely carries more than 14,000 students to and from school. Metro has a strong commitment to school bus safety. This includes when students are waiting for the bus, when they are traveling on a bus and immediately after they disembark.
